We joined forces with ArtsEd Washington in 2021 at the on-set of COVID to establish 'Color for the Arts' a new art supplies fund for Title 1 schools in Washington state with high numbers or high percentages of children living in low-income households. Together we produced physical coloring books of our collection of pages which we donated one coloring book for each book sold, along with 100% of profits from the book to these Title 1 schools and surrounding communities.
During the 2021/2022 school year, we raised nearly $5,000 for our Color for the Arts Fund which provided much-needed supplies for Title I schools in King County. Middle school teachers involved in arts programs at these schools were asked for wish lists to keep their programs running, coming out of those difficult COVID-19 years. Students at Chinook Middle School, Aki Kurose Middle School, and Glacier Middle School all received supplies to support their theater, visual arts, and media arts programs.
The donated copies were sent to students at the schools mentioned above, and ArtsEd Washington also shipped classroom sets of books across the state to students in Cathlamet, Ilwaco, Bothell, Kenmore, Moses Lake, and Shoreline.Thank you to all the purchased a book(s) and supported our initiative!
